Beautiful grips, but sharp, abrasive checkering. Fun Gun Reviews Presents: The Kahr K40 'Elite 98' 40 Caliber Pistol. My second.added the checkered wood grips from Kahr. My First.added the smooth wood grips from Kahr: A bit heavier than the PM9 and more suited (due to comfort) to IWB than pocket, if it's in good shape, you'd be hard pressed to find one at $525. They are beautiful, elegant, solid stainless pistols, built to custom shop standards accurate, dependable, and smaller than all but one (Rohrbaugh) 9mm semi available. If that MK9 Elite was in my part of the country, at that price, in good shape, I would try to beat you to it. I don't exactly regret selling my MK9, but I don't love the PM9 like I did the MK9s. The lower weight did add a "snappiness" to the recoil, and a slightly increased reaquistion time, but made it easier to pocket carry. I have found the PM9 to have the accuracy and dependablility of my MK9s, at a lower weight. After about another year, when Kahr got the PM9 issues squared away, I sold my trusty (and loved) MK and bought a PM9. I carried it anyway, with a good belt, cinched up one notch more than normal. I love my MK anyway, though it was a bit heavy for pocket carry. The new PM9 had come out, and appealed to me, but there were QC issues. Sold it in about a month and bought a new MK9. If I have to carry IWB, I'd prefer to carry one of my. It shot okay and held lots of ammo, but it wasn't a pocket pistol. 38 ammo is readily available as well.Ĭan anyone give me first hand experience ratings of this weapon? I understand it is all stainless and very heavy in comparison to the revolvers I mentioned, but I really like the look, feel, and size of the gun as well as the price. I like how it is chambered in 9mm as well, I shoot a lot of 9mm rounds already for fun out of other handguns I have so I constantly have ammo on hand. They are asking $425 for it, which I think is a steal after doing some research on this piece. It is the polished version (I believe it is the Elite 03 model) with night sites and 2 mags. I was at the shop today, and in the used handgun case I saw a gun that immediately caught my attention, the Kahr MK9.
KAHR MK9 ELITE SERIES
38 revolvers like the Smith BG series and the Ruger LCR. I have recently been shopping around and leaning towards a lot of J-frame. 380 cal because I personally do not think it has the knockdown power I want in a life or death situation. I am a small guy, 5'8" 165 lbs with a 32" waist and slim build so my options are somewhat limited for a pistol to be "truly" concealed on my person.
I've been looking into a new (to me) small concealable weapon to use as my daily carrier.
